Full Time Animal Ranger

The role:

This is a full time teaching and animal husbandry role, Tuesday- Saturday with Duty Manager hours on Saturday (at a higher pay rate). The candidate will be working 1:1 with students with highly complex needs, who have been identified by schools or the local authority as needing respite from mainstream school. We are looking for a candidate ideally with a teaching background, who is ideally able to implement the national curriculum into their 1:1s learning programme. We also welcome candidate with an animal background and experience working with children.

Responsibilities will include:

• General husbandry of all animals on site

• Running 1:1 sessions for highly vulnerable children with complex needs

• Implementing the national curriculum into their sessions, where appropriate

• Managing the site and staff on Saturdays

Successful candidate(s) will ideally have:

• A relevant teaching qualification

• Experience working with SEND students

• Experience working with highly vulnerable students

• Experience working with children with safeguarding concerns

• Experience working with a range of taxa

​

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, motivated, able to work independently, with a positive outlook and excellent communication skills at all levels. Must also be comfortable completing manual work.

​

The successful candidate would also work with public groups after school and during the school holidays.

​

Full in-house training will be given to the successful candidate. CPD training will be offered after a probational period.

​

We are a supportive, forward thinking team who focus heavily on staff welfare.

Pay is calculated on an hourly rate, 35 hours guaranteed per week.

Pay: £24,000.00-£28,756.00 per year
